9th Annual Child of Wight Awards Winners

Celebrating Young Heroes at the Child of Wight Awards!

Glanvilles Damant was proud to sponsor the Best Friend Award at this year's Child of Wight Awards, hosted by Isle of Wight Radio. This special event, now in its 9th year, highlights the incredible achievements, strength, and resilience of some of the Island’s most inspiring young people.

We were deeply moved by the remarkable stories shared during the ceremony, especially that of Sophie Brookes, who won the Best Friend Award. Sophie was recognised for her unwavering support and companionship to her best friend Sydney, who is autistic and faces challenges with extreme anxiety and Tourette’s Syndrome. Sophie’s kindness, encouragement, and friendship have been a lifeline for Sydney, particularly at school.

We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sophie and all the amazing children who took part in the awards. Your courage, kindness, and spirit are truly inspiring! 

A huge thank you to Isle of Wight Radio for organising such a wonderful event and allowing us to be part of celebrating these young heroes. We look forward to supporting the 10th annual Child of Wight Awards next year!
